Role of the institution in the Competence Network on Parkinson’s disease
The Deutsche Klinik für Diagnostik (DKD) in Wiesbaden is one of the regional centers in the Competence Network on Parkinson’s disease.
Description of the institution

The Deutsche Klinik für Diagnostik (DKD) has served patients since 1970. It was patterned after Mayo-Clinic, Rochester, USA. Parkinson’s syndrome came into special focus in the summer 1995, and has since been continuously explored and expanded. The emphasis is on outpatient and / or day hospital treatment.
DKD provides the most updated diagnostic means and methods. It also cooperates closely with the Mainz University Hospitals, for instance when PET examinations should be performed. All kinds of therapies are being applied. Deep cranial nerve stimulation is carried out in cooperation with other neighboring centers. These patients are atended by Dr. Fogel.
